Cycle To Loch Ness – Self Guided

1.Cycle To Loch Ness – Self Guided

★★★★★★★★★★5.0 · 119 reviews · 1 day (approx.) · from $76Our pick

Cycle from Inverness to Loch Ness on a self-guided route with bike hire, maps, canal views, and flexible time at Dores.

“We really enjoyed being able to cycle to Loch Ness! We got to see a lot of the countryside on the way. Just be prepared. It’s a lot of uphill on the way there. We rode into Dohrn and sat at the beach. There’s an adorable little coffee trailer across the street. I would highly recommend riding bikes. You can take your time and see more of the area. Make sure you use your map as we got turned around a bit on the way back.”

Glasgow Ghost Hunt: The Soul That Got Away Exploration Game

2.Glasgow Ghost Hunt: The Soul That Got Away Exploration Game

★★★★★★★★★★4.0 · 71 reviews · 1 hour 30 minutes (approx.) · from $6

Review of Glasgow’s $6 smartphone ghost hunt, with historic sights, puzzles, flexible timing, app tips, route details, and honest drawbacks.

“We were one of 3 couples visiting Glasgow for Hogmanay, and to use up some spare time on 1st January we tried this tour, which was very suitable as it was so flexible - we could start when ready and take all the time needed. The ghostly facts were amusing and the clues fun. It was just a pity so many bars were closed (preventing occasional stops!) before heavy rain terminated our game prematurely. The game encouraged us to tour parts of the city we wouldn't have and was very good value.”

“Actually a very good idea, but the app doesn't work well. I didn't know where ti go next because the app was already ten steps ahead and didnt stop playing the audio. So I had to open google maps to navigate myself. Also, when I took some photos the app stopped.. Really annoying. I prefer doing normal walking tours with experienced guides.”

“We had a lovely time on this walking tour. We happened to be in Inverness the day of the Queen's funeral and because of that, the tour we originally had planned that day was canceled and everything was closed. When looking for things we could do instead we found this tour and while it would have been more fun to do being able to go in to the book shop it mentioned and other things along the way, it was still a lovely day of seeing the city and the Ness islands were so beautiful. It probably could use to be updated as the Inverness castle is currently closed and…”

“It was our first time using the app. Overall, the experience was relatively good. Sometimes it knew exactly where we were, but sometimes it didn't, which was a bit challening. This particular tour was very focused on the city's architecture, which I didn't recall from the description, so if you aren't as interested in that aspect of the city's history, you may want to try another tour.”
